I'm frequently asked what a click costs, and it looks as if I'm dodging the questions when I don't give a straight answer. But it really depends. Keyword prices vary on a number of factors including the the search engine, budget, country, industry, the number of competitive advertisers, brand recognition and the relevence of your advertisement.
In 2005, Savvy managed nearly 1,700 keywords related to business software. Keyword campaigns included analytics software, contact management, sales force automation, ERP, Sarbanes Oxley, shipping software, CRM, and others.
The average cost-per-click (CPC) across Savvy managed campaigns on Google's AdWords program in the United States was $3.37. The average CPC for business software related keywords in Europe was $1.65.
These average CPC's include ads shown on Google search, Google's search network and Google's content network. Generally CPC's shown on the Google content network are less.
