Seth Godin founded Squidoo and launched the website in October 2005. It is a platform designed to make it easy for anyone, for free, to set up a single page on a topic he or she knows or cares a lot about. It's a social network of user-generated lenses -single pages that highlights one person's point of view, recommendations, or expertise.
Squidoo web pages or "lenses" help to establish me as an Internet marketing expert (sounds pretty fancy!), and gives me a place where I can include more information than in a blog posting. And like my blog, I can build the page all on my own. No need to get a developer involved. I can make it exactly the way I want, and update whenever I need to.
Squidoo pages can help you to establish your company as a leader in a market. And, more importantly, for many of us, they help to build valuable links.
Google is kind to Squidoo pages, many rank well in search results.
I also find Squidoo pages are a very nice way to pull together information that helps educate employees, partners and vendors about a market space -- especially important for technology companies.
Here are links to my first two lenses, more to follow soon.
